The resplendent quetzal (Pharomachrus mocinno) is a green bird known for its colorful feathers. The quetzal is regarded by Mesoamerican (Mexican and Central American) cultures as a divine bird and a representation of flying snake deities in their mythology. It is also the national bird of the Central American country of Guatemala, and their monetary unit is named after the bird.

The Mandarin duck (Aix galericulata) is a spectacular-looking duck from east Asia, where it became a symbol of love and affection. The male (pictured) has the species' striking coloration, with multi-colored plumage, orange neck feathers and "sails" on its back.

The mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) is the most widespread duck in the world and the precursor to the domestic duck. The male mallard (pictured) has a green head, a grey body and purple-brown feathers on its breast.

The toco toucan (Ramphastos toco) is the largest toucan and the best known in the toucan family. It also has the largest beak size relative to body size among all birds, where it represents 30 to 50 per cent of the animal's entire body length.
Plate-Billed Mountain Toucan, acrylic on art block, 2018
The plate-billed mountain toucan (Andigena laminirostris) is a species of toucan found in the northwestern foothills of the Andes mountains in South America from western Ecuador to southwestern Colombia. It is named for the yellow "plate" on its bill which is only present on adult birds.
