Angkor Wat

Located in the Southeast Asian country of Cambodia, Angkor Wat is the world's largest religious monument. It was originally built as a Hindu temple by the Khmer Empire during the rule of King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century. The building is a national symbol and prime tourist attraction in Cambodia and is prominently featured in its national flag throughout its evolution.




Forbidden City Palace

The Forbidden City is an iconic building complex in Beijing, China. The building pictured is the Palace Museum located in the Forbidden City grounds which was formerly the Chinese imperial palace and the residence of the Chinese emperor from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty in 1912. 




Neuschwanstein

The Neuschwanstein Castle is one of the most visited castles in Germany. With its white limestone facade and deep blue turrets, it is rumored to be the real-life inspiration for castles in Disney films such as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.



Eiffel Tower

Constructed from wrought-iron, the Eiffel Tower is one of the tallest and most well-known buildings in the city of Paris in France. It is named after French engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower from 1887 to 1889 for the 1889 World Fair. The Eiffel Tower is also the most-visited paid monument in the world.


Notre-Dame de Paris

One of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture, the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris was built from 1160 to 1260 and was associated with the Virgin Mary. It is also famous for being the main setting of Victor Hugo's novel, Notre-Dame de Paris (also known as The Hunchback of Notre-Dame) which was adapted into an animated film by Disney in 1996.


Sultan Ahmed Mosque

Also known as the Blue Mosque for the hand-painted blue tiles used in its construction, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque is located in Istanbul, Turkey, and was built from 1609 to 1616 during the rule of Sultan Ahmed I of the Ottoman Empire. It sits next to another famous mosque in the city, the Hagia Sophia.
