REMARKABLE WILDLIFE [SOLD]

This collection is a mixture of animal paintings which are hand-picked and made into a whole new collection.

Tiger

Tiger B, acrylic on canvas, 2020

After a re-shuffling of the tiger family tree by zoologists in 2017, tigers are now classified into two subspecies: the mainland Asian tigers (Panthera tigris tigris) and the Indonesian tigers (Panthera tigris sondaica). The Bengal, Malayan, South China, Indochinese and Siberian tigers are grouped together into the mainland subspecies, while the Sumatran tiger is the sole living member of the Indonesian subspecies.

Panda

The giant panda has bamboo leaves and shoots comprising 99 percent of its primary diet. Two of the panda's most distinctive features, its large size and round face, are adaptations to its diet of mostly bamboo.

Giraffe

Giraffe Feeding, acrylic on canvas, 2020

A giraffe’s tongue is prehensile and measures about 45 cm (18 in) long. It is purplish-black in color, perhaps to protect against sunburn, and is used to grasp leaves during feeding, as well as for grooming and cleaning the animal's nose.

Rhinoceros

Black and White Horns, acrylic on canvas, 2020

There are two types of rhinoceros in Africa: the black rhinoceros (Diceros bicornis) and the white rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum). The major difference between these two species are in the shape of their lips and feeding behavior. The black rhinoceros has hooked lips which are better suited for browsing on higher vegetation, while the white rhinoceros has wide, square lips and is a grazer of low-lying plants.

Raccoon

The raccoon (Procyon lotor) is famous for its facial mask and bushy, striped tail. Its body fur is thick and grayish in color. Their preferred habitats are deciduous and mixed forests in North and Central America.

Japanese Deer

Japanese Sika Deer, acrylic on canvas, 2020

The Japanese sika deer (Cervus nippon) is named after the Japanese word for deer (shika). They can be found throughout northeastern Asia, Taiwan and the Japanese islands. Like the axis deer, its spots do not fade when it matures.

Hummingbird

Ruby-Throated Hummingbird, acrylic on canvas, 2020

The ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) is a hummingbird that lives in Central America, Mexico and southern Florida. This species possesses a metallic green plumage on the top of its body and is perhaps known for the throat patch of iridescent ruby red feathers possessed by males.

Black-Footed Ferret

Black-Footed Ferret, acrylic on canvas, 2020

The black-footed ferret (Mustela nigripes) is an endangered species of ferret from central North America. It was declared extinct in 1979 but a number of confirmed sightings of a remnant population and a captive breeding program which began in the 1990s had revived the species’ population.

Dragonflies

Dragonflies, acrylic on canvas, 2019

Dragonflies are regarded as a symbol of the autumn season in Japan. In the same culture, they are also symbols of courage, strength, and happiness.
